In long term HK Audit field really can provide we a good future life?
I cannot see it right now..every year when I got promote..I only see increasing workload, increasing overtime with no paid leave....my time spending with my family keep on reducing every years...spending 7 days a weeks in office till midnight...Is that so call a balance work life?

Listed PRC companies in HK can appoint PRC auditor for their audit report...so where is the future of audit in HK?

Give me a break about the jumpy resume. Its just a tactic to lower your asking price. An auditor who has been around audit for 8 years get the comment "Cher, auditors for so many years, no commercial experience? I'd have to train you again."
If you want to move out of audit/accounting, banking for example, people look down on auditors because the industry promotes non-thinkers/cows. You get all these people taking FRM and CFA in audit, when the HR people look at their resume and yawn. They look for hands on experience! But you'd never know it in audit because people tell themselves that their experience is useful outside. Come on! Go ask someone, in iBank, in HR, someone with a LIFE.

Stop looking at the world through the straw you call your work-life balance. If the world values your work you wouldn't be working for free so much of the time. Not your current boss, not your new boss.

Business is about value. Add some.

Dear "Accountant",

Based on my "observation" on my colleagues these years (around 30 accountants with working experience from 3 years to 8 years), people with a so-called "jumpy resume" (ie. change jobs within one year) have a decent job in a decent firm, have a life, have a good salary, and more importantly, have their own family. For the ones staying in big4 for 5 years, well, life is very miserable (no family, non-paid leave, work over 15 hours a day, etc).
Maybe you think a duration like 8 year is not "long" enough to judge. But don't you think my observation does have some implications on the career path nowadays?
